"Balance" - 5" x 20" x 23"

Redband trout, a subspecies of Rainbow trout and Steelhead are indigenous to Central Oregon. They are often called the Desert Trout because they show a greater tolerance for high water temperatures, low dissolved oxygen levels, and extremes in stream flows that frequently occur in desert climates. These fish are especially adapted to the arid conditions east of the cascades.

The Redband trout has been facing declines due to environmental conditions associated with altered or destroyed habitats, diminishing stream flow, temperature extremes and lack of cover. Introduction of exotic and hatchery raised fish species also impact the population.

Depressed Redband trout populations are capable of rapid recovery if habitat conditions are favorable. Redband trout populations are increasing in some areas because of changes in fish management and habitat enhancement.

Global warming puts the polar bears at risk of extinction
Polar bears hunt their primary prey on the Arctic sea ice during the winter, storing the fat they will need when spring thaw forces them ashore to fast until the ice returns in the autumn. The annual sea ice is now melting earlier and forming later leaving the bears with less time to hunt. Once the ice melts the bears must fast for up to eight months on land until the sea ice returns. As the periods without food become longer, the overall body condition of these polar bears declines.
A development which threatens their survival, bears may become so thin that they may no longer be able to reproduce.
Preserve habitat for beloved wildlife, like polar bears and keep wild places wild for future generations.

    "Hunter and Gatherer" - 29" x 8"

Hunter came before Gatherer. The body shape led to a match set moving in the opposite direction but working together.
The flow of these pieces have a contemporary feel, the detail in the faces can fit into any Native American art collection.
The warm patinas on these two are just beautiful.

    "Daydreamer" - 14" x 15"

What I love most about Daydreamer is the contentment on his face.
He has had his fill of salmon for the moment and is interested in what is going on over there. You can use your imagination as to what is going on over there.
I thought about this sculpture for almost a year before I started sculpting. I knew that this piece would have a bear and some salmon what I find myself thinking about is the composition the design direction of the sculpture.
The design has to be interesting as well as tell a story.

  "Wild Horse Fury" - 41" x 18"

This piece has a lot of feeling, I look at this sculpture and can hear the stampede I can smell the dust I can feel the wind. This can be custom made to install in your rock or brick above a mantle or would also make an elegant entrance installed on a gate.
The Patina can be custom to your choice.

  "Fin To Fin" - 10" x 10" x 28"

Fin to Fin is inspired by photos a friend showed me of his travels in Alaska.

The photo I was attracted too was of a very large brown bear sitting on a ledge in the middle of the river. This bear I imagined earned this prime spot in the river, all the other smaller bears were fishing on the bank of the river.

This bear had an endless supply of fish jumping all around him.

Fin to Fin is my interpretation of this photo. His biggest problem is which one to eat first.
